Sugar Cookies

Sugar CookiesI have a delicious new sugar cookie recipe to share!! This turned out to be a fantabulous recipe from Definitely  recommended!  Enjoy 🙂


  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.

    Just for the record, the first time I made these – you INHALED them. I know why they turned out different this time. Due to your comments, you’ve left me no choice but to make more.

    HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Why did they turn out different this time??? And definitely bake more and make sure I’m there 🙂

    I forgot that I didn’t have vanilla extract and I read somewhere that you could use almond extract as a substitute, and well I think it gave it a funny taste! Also, I rolled the dough into balls and it works out better if you just put spoonfuls down on the cookie sheet!

    Come over tomorrow and we can bake 🙂
